barbara_neyrinck@dpsk12.org, Chairperson

The mission of the Gifted & Talented Education Advisory Council is to advocate for the needs of gifted and highly gifted students;  to advise the Board of Education on matters concerning the education of  gifted and talented students; and to support the Gifted and Talented Education Department by making recommendations to the department and the Board of Education concerning equitable identification, curriculum, funding, and structure.

The Gifted and Talented Education Advisory Council, created in 1991, serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Education and to the Gifted and Talented Education Department. The Council is comprised of teachers, parents, administrators and staff representing approximately 9,000 gifted/talented students in DPS as well as the Gifted and Talented programs in every elementary and middle school, the Highly Gifted Program magnet and other school-based and magnet programs that meet the educational needs of gifted and talented students. Contact the Gifted and Talented and Highly Gifted and Talented Department at: 720-423-8272 or visit http://gt.dpsk12.org/.
